Milan Fashion Week 2023 kicks off today, an entire week dedicated to fashion. Until February 27, the city of the Madonnina will host the presentation of the autumn-winter 2023/2024 women's collections. The attention of the media, industry insiders and wealthier clients will be catalysed by ben 54 physical and 5 digital fashion shows, accompanied by a very long series of events.

Milan Fashion Week was born in 1958 inspired by GB Giorgini's Florentine high fashion shows of 1951. However, it was only in the 70s that Milan became the fashion capital, today one of the most cosmopolitan cities in the world. The fashion week is organized by the National Chamber of Italian Fashion and the Municipality of Milan, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ICE-Agency.
The key themes of this year are inclusion, uniqueness and sustainability. News for the fashion hub that moves from the historic Palazzo della Permanente in via Turati to Palazzo Giureconsulti in piazza dei Mercanti. It will be possible to follow the events online, via the platform milanofashionweek.cameramoda.it but also on YouTube and TikTok. Furthermore, in Piazza Duomo, near the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele, a big screen will broadcast the fashion shows in streaming.
Emerging talents
A springboard for newcomers, Milan Fashion Week 2023 will also give ample space to emerging talents. Among the most anticipated debuts is that of the Japanese designer Tomo Koizumi, supported by Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, who will present his collection on February 26th. There is also expectation for the Chinese Raxxy, to Let's go, Act No.1, Alabama Muses, with animal-friendly furs, e Avavav, brand founded by Linda and Adam Friberge.
The most anticipated names
The great absentees of this Milan Fashion Week are Versace, Boss and Luisa Beccaria, while a great return is represented by Salvatore Ferragamo. Anticipation is growing for the collections of the big names in fashion: Giorgio Armani, Alberta Ferretti, Roberto Cavalli, Max Mara, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons for Prada, Fendi. Equally awaited arouse the great return of Iceberg, renamed Iceberg Since 1974, absent for a few seasons, and Matthieu Blazy's third show for Bottega Veneta. Among the most awaited brands, also the new Diesel, by Glenn Martens, MSGM by Massimo Giorgetti, Moschino, GCDS, Tod's, Jil Sander. There will be no shortage of celebrations during Fashion Week. On February 24, René Caovilla will celebrate the 50th anniversary of his famous Cleo shoe.
Milan and the fashion district
The city is ready to welcome familiar faces and visitors to this unmissable event. During these days, the numerous visitors who have arrived in the Milanese capital will be able to take a tour of the fashion district, among the luxury boutiques of the biggest national and international brands on Via Monte Napoleone, Via della Spiga, Corso Venezia and Via Manzoni. There will be exhibitions, but a highly anticipated event is the premiere of John Maggio's docufilm, "MILAN: The Inside Story Of Italian Fashion", a documentary film on Italian fashion, produced by Alan Friedman.
