Back to the INFO and the end of February is preparing to be decidedly colder than the first part. In the last week of February, in fact, an intense Atlantic disturbance is expected in Italy that will hit much of the Belpaese, especially in the North.
The peak of the bad weather phase is expected between Tuesday 25 February and Thursday 27 February, with the cyclonic vortex that will lead to abundant rainfall, wind and lower temperatures. Snow will return to the Alpine areas, sometimes abundant.
Weather: Snow Returns to the North
After a period with little snowfall, this time the snow will hit mainly the Western Alps on Tuesday. Heavy snowfall is expected especially in areas above 1.200 meters. On Wednesday it will snow in the Eastern Alps, with the snowfall level dropping even below a thousand meters. Snow is also expected on the central reliefs, but at higher altitudes: above 1.500 meters. After this passage there will be an increase in temperatures and a return to high pressure.
Temperatures drop in Italian cities
The drop in temperatures will affect not only the mountains, but also the northern cities. A Milan the maximum temperature will go from 14 degrees to 12 degrees, while the minimum will reach 0 degrees between Thursday and Friday, recording a drop of 7-8 degrees compared to the previous days. Just as a drop will also be recorded in Florence (maximum from 15 to 12, minimum from 11 to 6) e Turin (minimums from 8 to 1 degree). Temperatures in the Center and South, on the other hand, will remain substantially unchanged.
