Italy, Giuliacci's weather forecast for the Christmas holidays

The weather forecasts of Colonel Mario Giuliacci, meteorologist and operational director of the site, therefore speak of a climate that is anything but winter. meteogiuliacci.it, who was interviewed by Fanpage.it regarding the climatic events of the last week of the calendar year.

Giuliacci explained to Fanpage that “the weather will be nice until at least Boxing Day and above all those who travel to the Alps, where there is still some snow, will find ideal conditions to enjoy the Christmas holidays. Again in the border Alps there will still be a few sprinkles of snow on 22 and 24 December. It will go less well for those who visit the places in the central-southern Apennines, where there has been very little snow".

The Azores anticyclone brings heat for the holidays

Therefore, according to Giuliacci's forecasts, thanks to the Azores anticyclone, it will be hot everywhere. It will be more likely to have Christmas holidays with mild weather, if not exactly warm compared to the averages for the period, than winter weather.

Colonel Giuliacci, however, explains that at night and in the very early hours of the morning, temperatures will drop to values close to zero, therefore an important temperature range between night and day, between minimum and maximum temperatures.

Cold exceptions? For the entire course of the last decade, therefore good weather is expected, the only "coldest" dates will be December 20th and 21st when temperatures in Italy will drop below 10 degrees, during the night hours there will be the risk of frosts and banks of fog. For the rest, on average, on days surrounded by the Christmas atmosphere, the thermometer will reach 10-12 degrees in the northern regions, 13-15 in the central ones and up to 18 degrees in Puglia, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia.
