The next few hours will be marked by a drastic worsening of weather conditions, with strong thunderstorms, heavy rains and intense winds that will hit various areas of the country. This scenario of atmospheric instability is due to a cyclonic vortex, fed by polar currents, which is already influencing the regions of Northern Italy and part of Central Italy. Weather 13-15 September, Northern and Central Italy under Rain

The disturbed front began to manifest itself during the night, bringing heavy rains which mainly affected northern Lombardy and western Veneto, as well as the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas.

Also Apennine reliefs between Emilia and Tuscany are involved, recording significant rainfall. In the morning, many regions woke up under a gray and threatening sky, a prelude to a day of unstable weather conditions.

As the day progresses, the bad weather will move southwards. In the afternoon and evening, heavy rainfall is expected in the Tyrrhenian regions, particularly in Tuscany, Lazio and Campania, with Calabria being affected in the late evening. Also the Sardinia will experience very unstable weather conditions, with widespread rain and strong winds.

Temperatures drop: pay attention to the minimum values

In addition to precipitation, the most significant factor will be the significant lowering of temperatures. Thermometers will begin to record a marked drop, especially in the Northern and Central regions, with a further decline that will continue in the following days.

In locations such as Pescara and Lecce, there will be a drastic transition from typically summery conditions to autumnal temperatures, with variations from 30°C to 20°C and from 31°C to 19°C respectively.

Despite a general improvement expected for Sunday 15 September, some areas will remain under the influence of bad weather. In particular, along the Adriatic coast and southern regions, especially between Calabria and Sicily, unstable conditions will remain, with thunderstorms and strong winds, which will blow with particular intensity on the major islands.
