"When I got the email notification in the middle of the night", Reveals Marco,"I couldn't believe it: I had entered the short-list of Art Olympia 2017, an international contemporary art competition that takes place every 2 years in Tokyo".

"To give an idea of ​​the relevance of this competition, the total value of the prizes for the 100 finalists is around $ 500.000 in cash.". And again with great enthusiasm he explains: "All my efforts and stubbornness in participating in such a remarkable award and so far from my culture were ultimately rewarded.. "

"Dear Marco Barberio. We are very pleased to inform you that your file # 538242. Pawn shop has been selected to participate in the final round of Art Olympia Competition 2017 in Tokyo. We collected 1717 artworks from 1037 artists from 81 countries over the world. All of the artworks impressed the judges very much. So you cannot imagine how challenging it was for even experienced judges to select 100 from such an extensive pool. Congratulations!"

The final vote will take place on 7 June. The final exhibition of all 100 finalists will take place in Tokyo from June 17-25.
