Marcianise at the cinema: films shot in the city

City of history and culture, the history of Marcianise also hides other curiosities related to the world of culture and entertainment. The Campania municipality, in fact, was the location of some movie scenes set in Campania which have had a fair amount of success at the cinema. Let's discover which films brought Marcianise to the screen.

Marcianise hits the big screen with four arthouse films.

The first mainstream movie released in cinemas with Marcianise as one of the locations for the filmed scenes is Leave it alone, Johnny!, shot in 2007. The first film that had Fabrizio Bentivoglio as director, tells the story of the former guitarist of the Avion Travel Fausto Mesolella, who in the film is called Fausto Ciaramella. This man, called by his friends Faustino in the movie, looking for a job to avoid military service. He thus begins to playing at street festivals, to then be hired by the impresario Raffaele Niro for the famous pianist Augusto Riverberi, who nicknames him Johnny. The beginnings are promising, but soon the plot reveals some difficulties that Johnny believes he can't overcome. Will that be the case?

The second film that sees Marcianise among its settings is a detective story with a very gripping plot. It is about The Bonnard Affair, filmed in 2010 and directed by Annamaria PanzeraThe story takes place between Capri and Istanbul and talks about a scientific formula which would solve a good part of the waste disposal problem. There are many interests at stake and they put the scientist Piero, who must return to Italy to spread the formula, in serious danger. Helping him, albeit with great difficulty, will be the commander of the Capri Carabinieri Costanzo, which will play a key role in the film's surprising ending.

The two films of 2011

The third film in our review is the one that binds most to the city of Marcianise. This is about Tatanka, a film of Clemente Gagliardi taken from the story Tatanka unleashed by Roberto Saviano in his book Beauty and HellThe film, released in theaters in 2011, is freely inspired by the figure of Clement Russo, also a protagonist on the set. The boxer, who in the film his name is Michele, succeeds in escape crime, the only alternative in his land, thanks to theboxing encounter, while his best friend Rosario becomes the boss of the Camorra.

The last film we will mention, also shot in 2011, is also the most famous of the four. It is about Mozzarella Stories, directed by Edoardo de AngelisThe film talks about the war ofdairy entrepreneur Ciccio DOP with the new Chinese competition, which offers a high-quality product at half the price. His reaction leads to a series of consequences for the various characters of the story, starting from the daughter Sofia to the singer Angelo Tatangelo. When the tension is highest, however, they will think about it Ciccio's accountant and a Chinese masseuse to find the clue to the problem.
