2021 was definitely thegolden year of the Måneskin. The Roman band composed of Damian David, Victoria DeAngelis, Thomas Rays e Ethan Torchio, after Festival of Sanremo andEuro Vision Song Contest, has in fact also been awarded the MTV Europe Music Awards 2021 including best rock band, surpassing other historical groups such as i foo Fighters, the The Killers, Imagine Dragons and Coldplay. In fact, no Italian band before them had ever managed to win this coveted award. Måneskin performed on the stage of the Papp László Budapest Sportaren with their latest hit "Oh mama”Immediately inflaming the audience in the hall. Furthermore, the look of the frontman Damiano (with suspenders and briefs and leather boots) was a clear message of support for the Lgbt + community.
Not only MTV Europe Music Awards 2021: it is already Måneskin-mania
The "Måneskin-mania"Has already conquered Italy and the whole world. The MTV Europe Music Awards 2021 are in fact only the last act of the band's ascendant parable. It's been four years since Damiano David and his teammates made their debut at X-Factor. In a very short time, thanks also to the victory at Eurovision 2021 with "Shut up and good”, The four twentysomethings have become international stars. For example last July Iggy Pop recorded a version of their "I Want To Be Your Slave". In addition, in recent weeks the boys have been guests in two of the most important US shows (Tonight Show by Jimmy Fallon e Elle DeGeneres Show) to promote their latest single "Oh mama". Finally, on November 6th, Måneskin also had the honor of opening the concert of Las Vegas of the Rolling Stones.
Winning the 2021 MTV Europe Music Awards is therefore yet another demonstration of the great artistic value of this all-Italian band. Despite their young age, the Måneskin have already proved they can be the future of Italian rock. For many it is in fact a "breath of fresh air”(And transgressive) compared to the current path taken by Italian music, made almost exclusively by a genre much loved by the youngest, but misunderstood by the others. Rock is a direct musical language that manages to capture any type of audience, even with just a few deals. The Måneskin managed to bring back the Italian rock at high levels and of this one can only be proud. Well done Måneskin and… to the next success!
