Lucio Battisti, musician and songwriter would have turned 5 next March 80th. For the occasion, the journalist Ernesto Assante has written a biography of him, which will be published on February 28 by Mondadori. Battisti is one of the most famous musical artists of the Nine hundred Italian. His songs are an integral part of the costume history of our country. Truly a great artist but little known as a person as shy and reserved, to the point that so far no one had thought of writing the story of his life.

And it is on the 'mystery Battisti' that this book investigates, trying to put together the pieces of a still incomplete puzzle, starting from the magnificent Battisti-Mogol binomial, whose songs have been the absolute soundtrack for several generations of Italians. Songs that have embodied its spirit and dreams, giving space to the private and making it public and collective. Then in the early the eighties, Battisti becomes just a voice, devoid of body, far from the public and the media, crystallized in the image of the boy with curly hair and a scarf, who never gets old, like his songs. An electronic and invisible Battisti, deliberately distant from reality and from the world, who with Pasquale Panella has drawn the outlines of a visionary universe bordering on the avant-garde.

Thus anticipating a language revolution that leads us straight to contemporary music. The biography of Ernesto Assante therefore tells several stories: those of a multifaceted artist and man, capable of being accessible but conceptual, revolutionary but popular. A book of life stories and memorable songs, which skilfully celebrates the timeless myth of Lucio Battisti. Journalist and music critic for Repubblica Assante wrote "The History of Rock" (Savelli 1983), "Metropolitan landscape" (Feltrinelli 1985) and "Genesis" (Castelvecchi 1997). With Gino Castaldo instead "Blues, Jazz, Pop, Rock, 33 records without which you can't live" and the biography "Lucio Dalla".
