Daylight saving time will return tonight. As happens every year on the last weekend of March, also in 2025 the transition will take place tonight, Sunday, March 30. At 2 am, in fact, the clocks will be moved forward by one hour, marking the 3 directly.
A custom that will be abolished?
This will provide brighter evenings in the coming months. While devices such as smartphones, computers and tablets will update their time in Automatic, for analog clocks and alarm clocks it will be necessary to intervene manually. The new time will remain in effect until the last weekend of October, when solar time will return.
Lately there has been talk of the possibility of abolition of the time change. The possible abolition of the change between solar time and summer time has been discussed for several years in the European Union. Some countries, such as Russia and Egypt, have already eliminated this practice, while many others, especially in Africa, have never adopted it. In the EU, the debate is particularly strong in the Northern countries, where the effects of the time change are more evident. However, for the time being the current system remains in force, and this year we will also adapt to the change to summer time.
