Truly unique experience on the Lecce-Milan train, near Ancona.
There were moments of tension as a train was stopped and all passengers were forced to get off because of an unexpected guest on board: a snake. The alarm was raised when a traveler reported the presence of the reptile inside a carriage. According to initial reconstructions, it was a corn snake, a harmless species commonly kept as a pet.
The most likely hypothesis is that the reptile escaped from a passenger's luggage, but at the moment there is no official confirmation.
Snake on Train: Hidden in Ventilation System and Still Not Caught
After the train was evacuated, the staff immediately set out to locate and capture the animal, but the operation proved more complex than expected. The snake hid inside a vent in the ventilation system, requiring extraordinary measures to remove it. To ensure safety and hygiene on board, the railway authorities decided to cancel the train, while also starting operations to locate the reptile. The technicians will have to open the vents or dismantle part of the structure.
