The meteorological situation in our country is struggling to stabilize completely and, in the next few days, we will have to deal with it again rains and thunderstorms which will affect some areas of Italy. After the recent passage of heavy showers and thunderstorms that have particularly affected the northern regions, the weather has temporarily improved. The African anticyclone, although not yet well consolidated and positioned mainly to the southwest between Morocco and the Atlantic waters, is ensuring a more temperate climate. mild and sunny across much of the Peninsula, accompanied by fresh winds that make the air decidedly more pleasant.
Weather: Thunderstorms expected in Northern Italy from Saturday
However, keep your eyes on today, Saturday, July 12, when the situation could change again, especially in the North. A trough currently present over Eastern Europe will tend to move slightly westward, positioning itself between Poland and France. This movement will favor the arrival of more unstable air over north-eastern Italy.
Scattered showers and local thunderstorms could develop in the afternoon, initially in the Alpine and pre-Alpine areas, with the possibility that some phenomena could reach the Lombardy plains by the evening. Nothing particularly intense, but enough to interrupt the stable weather pattern of the last few days. South the good weather will remain stable.
Rainy weekend in the North and Central Italy?
The weekend looks set to be quite variable. Saturday, July 12th, will therefore be characterized by increased instability in the North, with thunderstorms likely to hit the mountainous and foothill areas in particular. On Sunday, July 13th, severe weather could also affect parts of Central Italy, with severe weather forecast especially in the inland areas of the Apennines.
In short, although this isn't a particularly severe wave of bad weather, the weather will continue to be somewhat unpredictable over the next few days, in a summer that's struggling to find continuity.
