Olly says no, Lucio Corsi goes to Eurovision. It's been working like this for a few years now: the winner of Sanremo enters the European competition to represent Italian music. A bit like what happened years ago with the Champions Cup (later became the Champions League and with different rules) when the winner of the Scudetto went to play with the European champions.
Of course, football is different from music: in that case, no club would ever have dreamed of refusing to participate in the Champions Cup. Instead, this time, the winner Olly expressly refused to participate in the European music competition.
Lucio Corsi at Eurovision: “I’ll chase the instruments this time too”
The reasons for Olly's refusal to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest 2025 are essentially two: not to slow down and not to postpone the concerts next May. Therefore, Lucio Corsi will represent Italy. The singer who came in second at the Sanremo Festival, has agreed to go to Basel, Switzerland, with the song "I wanted to be tough”. The international show will be held from May 13 to 17.

On his social media, Lucio Corsi wrote: “See you at Eurovision. I have always chased guitars escaping from their cases, pianos escaping from their homes, harmonicas blown by the wind, I will chase the instruments again this time. Thank you all, I am very happy."
