For workers in the Italian banking sector, following the signing of the new contract in recent months signed by unions, Abi (Italian Banking Association) and Intesa Sanpaolo, a net increase in pay of 100 euros is expected and will concern approximately 270 thousand workers.
Who is entitled to the increase?
This increase is the second tranche of the contractual increase established by the agreement signed, will be paid in four installments starting last December, and which also includes the "one-off" for arrears.
The new contract provides for an average monthly increase of 435 euros with an average of 1.250 euros.
Salaries, 100 euros more in September: who is entitled to them
The agreement was reached after a long negotiation and provides for the recognition of the economic part already with the payment of the salary for the month of December, together with the arrears from the month of July 2023". The agreement is valid until March 2026.
Furthermore, the weekly working hours have been reduced by 30 minutes, from 37,5 to 37 hours from 2024 July 80, with the same pay, recognising all bank workers over XNUMX% of the defined pay increase.
What are the increments?
The increases established in the agreement include:
- 250 euros, equal to 57,5% of the total 435 euros, already paid out in December;
- 100 euros (23%) in September 2024;
- 50 euros (11,5%) in June 2025 and 35 euros (8%) in March 2026.
Let's look at the increases in detail
The fourth level management framework (QD4) will go from the current 4.575,56 euros to 5.160,06 euros at full capacity (March 2026), the third level management framework (QD3) will go from 3.899,01 euros to 4.396,88 euros, while the second level management framework (QD2) will go from 3.483,38 to 3.965,48 euros and finally the first level management framework (QD1) will go from 3.283,73 euros to 3.743,21 euros.
In the third professional area: at the fourth level it will go from 2.906,90 euros to 3.341,90 euros; at the third level from 2.684,20 euros to 3.059,49 euros; at the second level from 2.535,88 euros to 2.890,41 euros; at the first level from 2.405,97 euros to 2.742,34 euros. Finally, those who are classified in the unified area (formerly the first and second professional areas) will go from 2.175,31 euros to 2.479,45 euros.
Other new features with the new contract
Changes are also expected regarding paid training, which will increase from 8 to 13 hours. As regards the commercial pressure exerted by the top management of banks to "push" the sale of financial and insurance products, more guarantees and more protections are expected for bank employees, full economic treatment will also be recognized for pregnant workers at risk.
The authorization that the bank was supposed to grant to employees for extra work activities has been cancelled, more sick days will be granted to those with serious disabilities and more attention will be paid to harassment and gender-based violence.
