Today, April 12, Easter Sunday, very encouraging data arrives from the civil protection.
The diffusion
After yesterday's sharp rise, comes the decline we expected for infected every day. Yesterday 4.694 infections were recorded while today 4.092, 602 fewer. An encouraging fact, which we hope, and expect, that it will continue to drop in the following days. This is the result of 46.720 swabs carried out, a lower number than yesterday, but still higher than in recent weeks.
Other important data
The growth of currently positive. There are 1.984 currently positive today, while yesterday they were 1.996. There is a decrease of healings, with 1.677 healed today. In addition, the daily percentage change (the famous curve) from 3.18% to 2.69%.
In hospitals
The good news from hospitals continues, with further declines in ICU patients and inpatients with symptoms. To date, 3.343 have been registered ICU patients (-38). While I hospitalized patients with symptoms are 27.847 (-297). Good news after the hellish weeks in Italian hospitals, where despite doctors and nurses are still under stress, the situation seems to be improving.
We continue to stay at home
Today we are having an Easter different from all the others, closed at home, without barbecues, relatives and friends. And the same must be tomorrow for Easter Monday. Unfortunately, these are the measures needed to stem the virus from spreading. Let's keep it up!
Who hasn't made it
The number of deaths today is the lowest recorded since 19 March, with 431 deaths. A high number, but which has more than halved compared to the past few weeks! A consequence of the declines in infections in recent days.
