Something incredible happened in the Louvre, one of the most famous and important museums in the world. There was an attack, so to speak considering the evident protective glass, on the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci. A form of protest involving a person in a wheelchair. The latter was nothing more than a means to get as close as possible to the work. The tool of protest? A cake.

Cake against the Mona Lisa

Let's reconstruct what happened. A young environmental activist himself disguised as a woman, with a wig and well-designed clothes. The clothing was quite loose so that it could hide the cake which was then thrown against the protective glass of the Mona Lisa. What kind of cake? A very simple and covered with cream, so as to be able to smear as much as possible.

For the moment the man has no name, at least for the press, but he has been taken into custody, as can be seen in one of the many videos that have gone viral. After the launch, he suddenly approached the glass, so as to spread the cream well, which the employees later cleaned up. No damage to the work. The glass is bulletproof and certainly won't get scratched by a cake.

After the gesture, the man threw roses on the floor, also well hidden on his person: "Think of the Earth. People are destroying the Earth. Think about it. The artists tell you. Think of the Earth. That's why I did it ”. An artistic protest with a great impact, the news of which went around the world. Mission accomplished and zero damage for the work. Something on the security front of the Louvre, however, should change.
