The inspiration, the soul and the genius of Franco Battiato arrive at the cinema with a unique event, exclusively from 28 November to 4 December next. “The master's voice"of Marco Spagnoli, already presented at Taormina Film Fest 2022, is a documentary produced by RS Productions e ITsART (Italian streaming platform dedicated to culture), which tells the most beautiful and exciting performances by Franco Battiato, the beloved Sicilian singer-songwriter disappeared the 18 May 2021. It is a musical journey, which starts from Milan and ends in Sicilia, in his beloved Milo, a town on the slopes of theEtna. The title of the docu-film is a tribute to theself-titled album by Battiato, published in 1981, which just last year he accomplished 40 years. Franco Battiato will be the producer Stephen Senardi, a great friend of the singer-songwriter, as well as author of the documentary together with Marco Spagnoli.
The master's voice: a love letter to Franco Battiato
The documentary was also attended by several artists, friends of Battiato, who revealed some anecdotes, even personal ones, concerning the singer-songwriter. Among these are: journalists Andrea Scanzi e Vincenzo Mollica, director Nanni Moretti, the actor Willem Dafoe, photographer Oliviero Toscani, the producer Mara Maionchi, but also Carmen Consoli, Morgan, Caterina Caselli e Alice. "The Master's Voice" is a beautiful account of the life and career of an eclectic artist. Initially not understood, especially by the critics, Battiato has managed over the years to become one of the most loved songwriters in Italy, thanks also to the strength of his texts. With this docufilm, Spagnoli and Senardi wanted to "write a love letter" to Battiato, also celebrating theartistic heritage by the Sicilian master. "The master's voice" will be in theaters for only one week. A unique event, not to be missed, for those who want to discover more deeply the universe of Franco Battiato.
