The brilliant friend, the story of who runs away and who stays earns a place in the ranking of the best TV series of 2022 by the New York Times and the New Yorker. The series is directed by Daniele Luchetti and produced by Lorenzo Mieli for Fremantle, The Apartment and Wildside (both companies of the Fremantle group) and by Domenico Procacci for Fandango, in collaboration with Rai Fiction and with HBO Entertainment. Based on the third book of Elena Ferrante's quadrilogy, it was written by Ferrante herself with Saverio Costanzo, Francesco Piccolo and Laura Paolucci.
