The Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner announced the creation of the Jannik Sinner Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children and youth athletes through education and sport.

Sinner, the number one Italian tennis player in the world

Born on August 16, 2001 in San Candido, Alto Adige, Jannik Sinner is considered one of the greatest talents in the history of Italian tennis and is the current world number one in the ATP ranking. Raised in a German-speaking family, as a child he practiced both Alpine skiing and tennis, obtaining excellent results in both disciplines. At 13 he decided to dedicate himself completely to tennis, moving to Bordighera to train with Riccardo Piatti.

His rise has been rapid: he began his professional career in 2018 and, thanks to his dedication and talent, he reached the top of the world rankings in June 2024, the first Italian in history to do so. Sinner has won 19 ATP titles so far.

He also played a decisive role in Italy's historic Davis Cup victory in 2023 and 2024. His aggressive style of play, his composure in key moments and his extraordinary work ethic have made him a point of reference not only for Italian fans, but for the entire tennis world.

The foundation of Sinner

Sinner is also involved in social work. The foundation he is building aims to make education and sports more accessible to young people around the world, promoting core values such as discipline, resilience and inclusion. The main goal is to provide opportunities to those who, for economic or social reasons, would have less chance of realizing their dreams. The Jannik Sinner Foundation will work with schools, sports clubs and other organizations to implement programs that combine school education and physical activity, thus creating a positive and inspiring environment.

The Foundation's board members include high-profile figures such as Alex Vittur, Stefano Domenicali and Luca Maestri, united in the common aim of breaking down social barriers and promoting inclusion through sport and education. Sinner said he feels a strong social responsibility and wants to give back part of his success to the community, helping new generations build a better future through the values of sport.
