Italy in prayer tonight at 21 pm with the recitation of the Holy Rosary to be held in the chapel of the Gemelli polyclinic in Rome, dedicated to St. Joseph Moscati. The moment of community prayer is organized by Avvenire, Tv2000, InBluradio, Sir, Federation of Catholic weeklies and Corallo.
The initiative is promoted in agreement with the general secretariat of the Italian Bishops' Conference which will broadcast the Holy Rosary live on its Facebook page. Therefore, we all pray together again, hoping that the spread of the infection from Covid-19 stop. An end to this terrible modern plague is called for. God's mercy is asked so that the numbers of the dead and those infected no longer grow exponentially as has happened in recent weeks.
The recitation of the Rosary and the supplication to Saint John Paul II
From the chapel that bears the name of the 'holy doctor', at the conclusion of the prayer, the supplication to St. John Paul II, who passed away on April 2 15 years ago, will also rise. The same Pope Francesco he has declared: “The mark left by San is indelible in the Church and in society John Paul II". It will once again be a choral moment to invoke divine benevolence and to stop the Coronavirus epidemic that is claiming victims all over the world.
Community prayer to avert the spread of contagion
The appointment is one of the events wanted by the Federation of Catholic weeklies and by the Corallo circuit together with the Italian Bishops' Conference. In fact, since the first days of the manifestation of the pandemic, the Catholic media and the CEI have done their utmost to ensure that the community of the faithful is not lacking in spiritual support.
Already on 19 and 25 March, the recitation of the Rosary was broadcast live nationally under the guidance of Msgr. Stefano Russo, secretary of the CEI. Tonight the Marian prayer par excellence will be transmitted from a suggestive place. It is the chapel of San Giuseppe Moscati, the 'doctor of the poor' canonized by Pope Wojtyla in 1987.
