More and more Italian women are choosing to leave the Belpaese to reinvent themselves or lay the foundations for a new life abroad. According to AIRE data updated to 2024, Italian citizens Italians abroad there are over 2,8 million, representing approximately 48% of Italian emigrants. A constantly growing phenomenon that deserves attention.

Who are the Italian women abroad and where do they live?

Most Italian women living abroad are aged between 18 and 39, but the number of women aged between 40 and 50 is also increasing. We are talking about girls and women with a good level of education, often graduates, who work as professionals, researchers, artists or who are mothers looking for a more stimulating and welcoming environment.

The reasons why they leave? Simple: they are looking for better job opportunities, more equality between men and women, services that work better and, in general, a quality of life that they perceive as higher.
