Slow tourism projects are born. “Slow tourism” is a new idea that is slowly spreading throughout the world. Next spring will bring with it many splendid surprises in Italy in this sector. Indeed, the initiative was created “Discover the Italy you didn't know”, promoted by the Ministry of Tourism in collaboration with the Italian Regions.
The initiative has the noble objective of enhancing the most evocative itineraries of our peninsula. The idea, however, is not limited to making known only some places, but also to making known the food and wine specialties, in which Italy is second to none.
Slow tourism: in Umbria here is “Open paths”
“Open Paths” is a project of the Umbria Region which will feature 42 itineraries. The event will be held on April 13 and 14, 2024, and is required to attend register for free on the official website of Viaggio Italiano. All excursions will be circular and will have a total length of between 6 and 10 km, so no particular trekking skills are required to participate. A nice walking route to discover many beautiful places.
“Aromas of Italy” starts in Tuscany
Instead, the Tuscany Region started the project “Aromas of Italy”. Its objective is to enhance food and wine tourism in a different way, focusing not only on flavours, but also on the most characteristic aromas. Two certainly very interesting initiatives.
