Italy is positioned at the top in Europe for the collection and recycling of used mineral oils, reaching a regeneration rate close to 100%. This result emerged from the 2023 Sustainability Report of Conou, the National Consortium for the Management, Collection and Treatment of Used Mineral Oils. The Italian supply chain also recorded economic growth of 12% compared to the previous year.

Italy leader used oils: collection and recycling

In 2023, the sector harvested 183.000 tonnes of mineral oil used by industrial sites and workshops, almost all of the collectible. Of this, 98% was regenerated thanks to the work of 59 dealers who collected from 103.000 producers throughout Italy.

For these operations, 678 vehicles were used, with 6.641 deliveries made.
