It's about warning alerts for national emergencies and disasters, a work already tested in other Italian regions in recent months. The system does not require activation, registration or geolocation because it uses a specific technology. Let's see how it works.
How It-Alert works
The system is activated at 12,00: all mobile phones in the regions involved will receive a test message which unanimously warns of the possible danger and also emits an acoustic signal. The alert is received by all mobile devices present in the area affected by the emergency. It Alert uses technology cell broadcast: you do not need to provide your number or access and share data contained on the device.
The objective of the experimental tests is to spread knowledge of this technology among as many people as possible to better deal with emergency situations when IT-alert is fully operational in our country.
