The optimism of Istat, on the eve of the coming year, projects into the canvas of the near future, an Italy ready to recover from the torpor of the economic crisis. The boot therefore seems to be growing. As reported by one monthly note concerning the economic progress of our country. The manufacturing sector recorded an increase in orders of + 0,9%, and a further improvement in credibility in the month of the eve of the new year. This datum attests and therefore certifies a recovery of the economic activity of our country; thus tracing the contours for a positive frame that can continue to tell an Italy that, in the coming months, could really reconstitute a social fabric that restricts the crucial aspects of economic difficulties.
Istat data: business situation
The Italian economic situation for companies, the industrial product does not show any change in October, compared to the previous month; otherwise it can be said about the turnover of the industry, where the data confirm what has been stated above on the growth of the manufacturing sector. The August-October quarter recorded a positive change compared to the previous three months: for internal turnover + 2,3%; + 2,1% for foreign turnover. However, December was also a positive month for the Italian market. Credibility towards manufacturing companies, following feedback on orders and production expectations, is growing.
Labor market: growth in the manufacturing sector
According to Istat, the labor market divides the employment trend in the manufacturing industry in an inversely proportional manner; and that of commerce and construction. Indeed, it would seem that if in the first case there seems to have been an improvement in employment; there was also a decline in construction services. On the price list, positive signs have been recorded since the spring, also in the sector of production of consumer goods on the domestic market; the rate of increase on an annual basis increased to + 0,4%.
Differentiation in wages
The gap existing between executive and employed class, between North and South, in terms of remuneration, however, remains vast. On average, a manager, according to Istat, earns almost four times more than his subordinate employees. Not to mention the business class: executives of small and large companies. To corroborate this fact is the considerable privilege often used by managers over 50; entrepreneurs who are paid an hourly wage of 51,4% more than that of young people up to 29 years of age. There is a further difference in wages between graduated and high school employees, so that the former seem to earn a salary one third higher than that of a qualified employee; reality even more accentuated in the industrial sector.
The tasks that require a minimum wage schedule are distributed among porters, janitors, domestic workers and police officers. To fill these positions means to receive low salary wages to such an extent that, if the average gross hourly wages are equivalent to about 14 euros; 10% of occupational jobs with more advantageous wages earn about 13 euros more, compared to 10% of workers with lower wages by definition.
The pay gap between women and men is still high: the female gender seems to earn 12,2% less than their opposites; divergence that is accentuated to 30,6%, in reference to duties intended for those who meet the requirements with a degree. Lombardy is on the podium of the highest salaries with € 15,7 per hour; unlike Puglia, Basilicata and Calabria, crowned regions with the lowest salary prospects.
