The restrictive measures of the lockdown prevent the carrying out of public initiatives, parades and commemorations as has happened in the past. So, for 25 April 2020, virtually everyone is gathering around the Tricolor. The virtual embrace runs on the web at a time when Italy and the world are fighting against an invisible enemy called Covid-19.
April 25: homage to the past and commitment to the difficult present
The #iorestolibero campaign was born on the web to bring Italians and Italians together in a virtual but equally lively and passionate square. A great mobilization that not only wants to remember but also to donate. In fact, on April 25 this year it acquires a particular solidarity dimension.
The promoters of the campaign are asking for donations to support the third sector, the world of associations that take care of those in need especially in this time of quarantine. It will be April 25 of liberation, perhaps the greatest since the postwar period ”, assure the promoters of the mobilization campaign. The appointment with the live broadcast of “25 April 2020 #iorestolibero” is at 11 on 25 April on website 25aprile2020.it and at 14.30 pm on the website of the newspaper Repubblica.it. Over a thousand personalities from the world of culture and entertainment have joined the initiative. But also priests, economists and trade union representatives.
Even the Anpi (National Association of Italian Partisans) adheres to #iorestolibero and invites people to “make the strength of the Liberation, of the Constitution, be heard in music from the balconies, from the windows.
