To the microphones of italiani.it there is the debut writer Pamela Giannone who, under the pseudonym of Sveva Donati, wrote the “Abecedario della nostalgia”.
We present Pamela Giannone in an exclusive interview with Italiani .it
What is the “Nostalgia primer” about?
"The “Ackbook of Nostalgia” is a collection of songsi, some a lot intimate and autobiographical, others instead tell episodes and emotions experienced by people very close to me, to which I wanted to dedicate space in my book.
I wanted to associate each of these passages with a letter of the alphabet, a detail from which I took inspiration for the title of the book.
How did your passion for writing begin?
“I would like to start by saying that the primer was born by chance, from a collection of intimate notes, some of which were less recent, which I later wanted to put together and publish.
My passion for writing began since I was little, when, in a secret diary, I wrote down all the emotions I experienced and my most personal thoughts, but my first real approach to writing came when I took part in a publishing course, a wonderful experience that brought me closer to proofreading and editing, activities that I still carry out with great enthusiasm".
Subsequently I participated in a seminar in Umbria, in the "Free University of Alcatraz", directed by Jacopo Fo, son of Dario, where I followed creative writing courses.
After graduating in Modern Literature, I decided to participate in an internship in a small publishing house "Il riccio editore" in Verona, which now no longer exists. During the internship, a small group of kids and I evaluated the stories produced by debut writers. Among all those we read we chose the best ones which were published in the magazine "Inchiostro" completely free of charge. Which, among the participating debut authors, boasts illustrious names such as Piperno. It was a wonderful experience that I also talk about in one of the passages in the book.
What are your future literary projects?
Right now I have an idea that I'm considering developing, but I'm not working on it yet. For the moment I prefer to enjoy the positive feedback I receive from my readers of the “Abecedario della nostalgia”.
What do you do in your life?
For a few years I have been working in the customer service department of a well-known furniture brand and, moreover, I collaborate with an association in Rome for which I take care of the social content.
Even though the work takes me up for several hours a day, I don't give up on carving out space for myself to cultivate my passion for writing, in fact, as a freelancer, I deal with editing and correcting drafts sent to me both by various Italian publishing houses and by the authors themselves. .
I am also proudly part of a reading group created by myself and some friends who share my same passion for reading.
