From 21 to 24 June 2021, the International Music Festival Alfonso Rendano will take place in Cosenza, in the wonderful garden of Villa Rendano, conceived and curated by the Artistic Director Daniela Rome.
The Festival will host internationally renowned concert performers. They will perform: on June 21, Daniela Roma; on June 22, Manuel Araujo; on June 23, Costantino Catena; on June 24, Vitaly Pisarenko.
The important international Festival is promoted by the Giuliani Foundation with the aim of encouraging in Italy and abroad the knowledge of the prestigious Villa Rendano, the history of the city of Cosenza and the figure of the great Calabrian composer and concert player Alfonso Rendano to whom it also goes the merit of having invented the independent pedal, called “Rendano”, of the piano.
To pay homage to the Calabrian composer, each concert performer will also perform some pieces by Alfonso Rendano among others. The evenings of the Festival will be broadcast in live streaming via radio and in streaming on European, Canadian and American TV. The program will be enriched by the matinees of the Alfonso Rendano International Music Festival during which the following will be presented: the volume of the musicologist Danilo Prefumo "Paganini, life, works, his time" and the comic "Once upon a time ... Rendano" by Gianluca Gallo on 22 and 24 June respectively. At the opening of both matinees, the video art of Orazio Garofalo “Engramme Valse” will be screened with music by Alfonso Rendano performed by Daniela Roma.
Villa Rendano
Villa Rendano it was built by the Italian pianist and composer Alfonso Rendano. The historic building located in Cosenza on the Triglio hill, is home to a beautiful multimedia museum. The interior is very neat and adorned with frescoes that enrich the magnificent rooms. The majestic structure is surrounded by a well-kept garden. From the terrace of Villa Rendano it is also possible to admire a breathtaking 360 ° view over the ancient city of Bruzia. Since 2012 Villa Rendano belongs to the Attilio and Elena Giuliani Foundation who have transformed it into a cultural institution.
