"The 2025 theatre season thus comes to life, in which history and culture find an absolute protagonist in the Greek Theatre. He declares Palazzolo Acreide's Councilor for Culture, Nadia Spada, that with "Palazzolo is” promoted the event, in co-programming with the Archaeological Park of Neapolis-Villa del Tellaro and Akrai. "It's an honor for me to return to perform in my homeland with a play that speaks of Sicily, of us Sicilians, and of a reality that concerns all those who love art and strive, at any cost, to realize their dreams. Doing it at the Greek Theatre of Akrai fills me with particular pride.” are the words of Daniele Perrone, who in 2009 was in the cast of Giuseppe Tornatore's Baaria, a film that earned him a David di Donatello nomination for Best Supporting Actor and which then launched his career in cinema, TV and theatre.

The one at the Greek Theatre of Palazzolo is the first of a series of all-Sicilian stages which, continuing in the winter season around the country, will see the arrival of “IN A SEA OF DREAMS” directly into the New York's Little Italy in 2026.
The actors
"Theater is always magic - Explains Mariapaola Tedesco -. AND This time, I also used magic to better interpret the fortune teller Carmela, so different and distant from me. But that's precisely the beauty of my work as an actress, which in this case allowed me to study ancient customs and rituals. Cby directly consulting the elderly Sicilian women who still remember and practice small, great magic".
"I immediately believed in this idea and this project, which I'm very happy to have realized, among other things with fantastic colleagues and professionals. Migrants are an important topic, telling of the desperate journeys of our grandparents, but unfortunately also of men, women, and children still searching for dreams to realize. We all live in a kind of "sea of dreams," and this show we're bringing to the stage in this beautiful place like the Greek Theater of Akrai will make us dream even more of a better world." finally tells the producer, director and actor, Pierpaolo Saraceno.
Admission to the show at the Greek Theatre in Palazzolo Acreide is free with reservations on the website. www.palazzolo-e.it
History
A ship, so many dreams. A ship, so much suffering, but also so much hope. We're on this ship, but we can't see it. Because we're so inside it that we only see the room where the "carbonari" carry out their heavy, constant work. It's precisely there that Ciccio and Salvatore meet again, two artists in search of a better life, sailing through their dreams embodied by this ship. Between the real and figurative darkness of that journey in terrible conditions, and a mysterious light that accompanies them along the way, the two become increasingly close friends, moment by moment, wave by wave. Thus they share not only a room, but also sweat, second thoughts, regrets.
And laughter! How many laughs these two have! Because between Ciccio and Salvatore there is a great sense of humor, a great game, lots of music, and a strong desire to spread their art worldwide. They manage to have fun dreaming together on this journey that takes them from Sicily to New York.
They don't yet know, in reality, whether they'll be able to reach the New Continent, the new life they long for. The one who knows everything about them, however, is a fortune teller who, through the cards, looks at everything and relates it to someone...who knows who! Everything is in constant flux: gestures, memories, words of comfort, regrets, desires, and even certainties. A ship, so many dreams. A ship, so much suffering but also so much hope. And a journey that, across the great ocean, between tears and laughter...where will it lead?
