Canoeing in the Po Delta

Canoeists are raring to go for what is the classic annual gathering in the Po Delta, suitable for everyone with a 15km circular route through reed beds. and sandbanks with a stop on the beach. Old enthusiasts know that for arrivare to Santa Giulia, from Adria, you needCrossing two natural islands that characterize our delicate yet beautiful territory. We pass the island of Ariano, an alluvial island formed almost entirely by a massive hydraulic project built by the Republic of Venice in 1600. Then we pass the island of Donzella, under the municipality of Porto Tolle.
Saint Julia Adria
The latter was also formed from debris transported by the Po River, following land reclamation work, in a liquid landscape, a constantly changing network. Not everyone knows that Santa Giulia is only a recent name for this location. These areas, literally reclaimed from the sea by human ingenuity, often take their names from the families who participated in the reclamation works during the Venetian era: Ca Venier, Ca Vendramin, Ca Zulian, Camerini, to name a few.
For Santa Giulia the name had a similar course. Until 1934, It was called Polesine dei Sospiri. When the local landowner, Mr. Locatelli, wanted to dedicate His sister named the place after her. In retrospect, it's touching to know you're in a place that bears witness to a brother's love for his sister. But, on second thought, even Polesine dei Sospiri has something poetic about it.
Canoeing in the Po Delta – Po di Goro
The September 8th itinerary includes a cruise along the Po della Donzella, passing through reed beds and salt marshes. A stop at the Bacucco River is planned, while the return journey will be via the Po di Goro.The participation fee is €20 and includes a gift, a picnic lunch, a toast on the beach, and UISP insurance.
Remember that the meeting point is (44° 48' 55'' N 12° 23' 55'' E (SP83 str- Belvedere Sacca). Remember that this canoeing route is suitable for everyone, with a circular route of approximately 15 km in length, including a stop on the beach. Ultimately, Kayaking is always fascinating.
