Do you know what is the best salami in Italy? It is Camillo Palmieri's spicy soppressata produced in the Casabona Santa Barbara cured meat factory in the province of Croton. The soppressata was chosen as the 'queen of Italian cured meats' by the juries made up of experts, journalists, nutritionists, university researchers, sector operators who tasted and evaluated the cured meats that reached the final 2022 Italian Salami Championship. The gastronomic festival, organized byAcademy 5 T, which was held in recent days in Sasso Marconi in Emilia Romagna.

For the juries the characteristics of the sausages of the salumificio Calabrese di Casabona are those of “a good, natural and healthy product. Able to raise awareness of respect for the values of memory with regard to food; the salami, in fact, which has always had an educational role and an incentive to conviviality ".
The spicy soppressata is a product deeply rooted in its territory of origin, made with theuse of the noblest parts of the pig. The only ingredients that are added to the cut meat are the local hot pepper, fennel and salt, used for the preservation of the sausage.
