Theater Board and Indignant Volunteers Onlus

The Board of Directors and Volunteers of the AssoFerrini Onlus association, the managing body of the Ferrini Theatre in Adria, express their full and unconditional support to their Artistic Director, Marco Doati, following the sanction received from the Municipal Police of AdriaThe fine was imposed for temporarily highlighting, with yellow paint, a dangerous step in front of the main entrance to the theater.

This action was not arbitrary but, as clearly explained in the certified email sent on September 27th (the same day as the complaint) to the Municipality's Protocol Office and the Municipal Police Headquarters, it arose from the urgent need to protect the public's safety. Indeed, as is sadly known, the step in question has caused several injuries and trips among spectators, the latter of which prompted the Association to take immediate action to prevent further incidents and resulting injuries.

AssoFerrini Onlus had formally reported the safety problem to the competent municipal offices with three (3) certified emails sent starting from 2023. Despite repeated communications, to date the Association has not received any feedback or a definitive solution to the danger.

Given the increase in accidents and the lack of municipal intervention, the Association's Board of Directors has therefore entrusted Artistic Director Marco Doati with the task of installing a temporary and visible sign to mitigate the risk of tripping, pending feedback and appropriate resolution from the relevant authorities.

"We are shocked and disappointed. Instead of receiving the necessary attention to the safety issue, which is the responsibility of the relevant authorities, we received a fine addressed to our Artistic Director. He was guilty only of acting to protect the community that frequents the theater," stated the Board of AssoFerrini Onlus. "We are not irritated by the fine itself, but by the manner in which it was implemented. A punitive and bureaucratic response that completely ignores the long-reported safety issue, without any collaboration to resolve it.

We would also like to add that the aforementioned certified email dated September 27, 2025, which explained the situation. Requesting collaboration to resolve the problem, after 30 days, the competent authorities have not responded. The only response was the fine imposed on October 2, along with a notice to remove the paint used to highlight the step.

The AssoFerrini Onlus Association is therefore requesting an urgent meeting with the Municipal Offices and the Administration. To define and implement a definitive and regulated solution to secure access to the Ferrini Theater, the "jewel of Adria" so beloved by the public.

AssoFerrini Onlus is and will always be committed to ensuring the safe enjoyment of the theater for all spectators. We apologize for not being able to address the risk of tripping. However, as you can understand, the responsibility lies with the organizations that, when urged, ignored every warning.
The President of AssoFerrini Onlus
Luisa Carpenedo
