What will it foresee the program of the Balloon Festival in Florence? In both October weekends, both 13-14 and 20-21, many flights are expected for balloon enthusiasts. It will be a Festival for young and old, for the simply curious and passionate. Give her 10 to 12 you can explore the hot air balloons, where inside the Festival staff will tell fantastic stories to enchant the public. From the 10 20.30 i will be activated workshops: all activities will be free and can be accessed without reservation, each child will be given a kite to build together with the staff.
Obviously we cannot leave out the magical evening that will conclude the two weekends of the Florence Hot Air Balloon Festival. On Sunday evening the show of Illuminated hot air balloons, in which the giants of the air will create beautiful luminous choreography under the starry sky of Florence. The show will be divided into three parts: the inflation of the balloons will be performed in time with a soundtrack. Some choreographies will then be performed with different selected pieces of music and, in the final, the balloons will be deflated simultaneously.
Ticket info and flight reservations
The Balloon Festival will be held at theVisarno Hippodrome in Florence, near the Cascine Park. The cost of the ticket to participate in the Festival is to 8 € for adults, 4 € for children up to 12 years, free for children under 1 meter tall. Tickets can be purchased directly on the Festival site.
Free flight it will last about 45 minutes and will start from San Casciano Val di Pesa, a small medieval town located in the green hills of Chianti. The flight, open to children with a minimum age of 6 years, will last a total of 3 hours - between inflation, flight and deflation of the balloon -, and its cost is 250 Euros per person. The ticket for adults is 7 Euros, while the reduced price, which includes children up to 12 years, will cost 5 Euros. Tied flights cannot be booked online and can only be purchased at the info point during the days of the Festival, subject to verification of the weather conditions. The flights will be activated from 10.00 to 12.30 and from 16.30 to 21.00.

To get to the Hot Air Balloon Festival in Florence at the Visarno Hippodrome, at Piazzale delle Cascine 29, there are many alternatives for those arriving from Santa Maria Novella:
- the most practical alternative is that of tramway: from Santa Maria Novella you have to take the tramway towards Scandicci (Villa Costanza) and get off at the “Cascine” stop, in 5 minutes you will have arrived at the Festival!
- with theBus, always from the Santa Maria Novella station, take the number 17C towards Cascine, getting off at the “Cascine” stop. It will take you 15 minutes to reach the Hippodrome.
- Also from Santa Maria Novella, a healthy alternative would be to reach the Cascine park walking, in 40 minutes you will have arrived at your destination!
