“The Wolf Cycle” is a collection of poems written by Anna Correale, author, philosopher, and professor of Aesthetics of Literature at the Sorbonne. She lives between Naples, Paris, and Ostuni where she decided to settle surrounded by a landscape rural setting rich in natural charm, colour and light. The book is published by Living Stones Editions, a publishing house in Locorotondo. The poems are written in Italian and French and are illustrated by Valeria Puzzovio, who lives and works in Salento as an illustrator in the editorial and advertising fields.
The encounter with the wolf

The title "The Wolf Cycle" reflects Anna Correale's choice to write her poems, inspired by an encounter with a wolf in the Apulian countryside. The writer chooses poetry to recount this revelatory encounter because she considers it the form of expression that can unleash the most instinctive part of each of us. The author defines the encounter with the wolf as a "dazzling event" that cannot simply be recounted but must be revealed using evocative and profound language, just like that of poetry.
Anna Correale's poems
The poems in this collection resonate with the reader's sensitivity, and the illustrations vividly portray both the exchange between the author and the wolf and the force of nature, which engages the reader and immerses them in an imaginary world. "The Wolf Cycle" is a fable for adults in which everyone rediscovers their own unexpressed unconscious, the naiveté of childhood, and the restlessness that accompanies us at so many moments in our lives. By reading the poems and pausing to listen to the silences, the reader rediscovers their own intimacy and magically finds themselves in an authentic world. To those who read "The Wolf Cycle," I advise: find the wolf within you, do not be afraid.
