What are the educational criteria set at national level?

At a national level, the Ministry of Education establishes some general criteria to be followed, such as minimum duration in days of the school year, 200 days and the approximate dates for the start and end of the school year, which usually begins in September and ends in June. These are the criteria according to which schools must operate.

The individual Regions, however, can adapt this framework to local needs and particularities, which is why each Region individually establishes the start and end dates of lessons and can include breaks for local holidays or particular events in the calendar. This flexibility allows you to take into account factors such as local weather conditions, regional traditions and holidays.
