After the success of the film released in 2019, the “Bangla” wins a David di Donatello, a Nastro d'Argento and a Globo d'Oro. There is great news for fans of the film, the "Bangla" is back and with a mini series of laughter, love and existential doubts. The sequel to the film consists of eight episodes of 25-30 minutes, certainly too few for lovers of Roman humor.

Phaim and Asia are a loving couple, but will their relationship be able to resist all this diversity? Phaim is a boy from Bangladesh, born and raised in Rome, in the Tor Pignattara area, known as an area with massive ethnic diversity. In Phaim always prevails the ironic joke out of place and the insecurity of him that builds the tragicomic character of him. Asia, on the other hand, comes from an opposite family, devoid of any kind of tradition or religiosity that induces her to be a free spirit with an instinctive and passionate character. Opposites thus attracted each other, as did their families who tried to adapt mentalities and build a relationship based on respect. A great imprint in the series is given by the friends of the two boys who show with sympathy how support can sometimes be a double-edged sword, especially when it comes to religious principles such as those that Phaim struggles to control.

This series shows us a reality that is still very much alive, the children of the second generations of foreign families have some difficulty in approaching the surrounding environment, but from this insecurity model stories have flourished such as the one between Asia and Phaim, where love was unconsciously strengthened and enhanced by the diversity of principles and compromises found. The "Bangla" catapults us into this Rome described in detail by letting us live it with all its facets. Only a person so close to this reality could show us and make us feel the emotions of the protagonists. Phaim, the protagonist of the series, is in fact also the director. He was joined by Emanuele Scaringi while the screenplay was written by the latter in collaboration with Vanessa Picciarelli, Dario D'Amato, Giulia Gianni and Giulio Carrieri.

To produce are Fandango and Rai Fiction, in fact we can find the episodes and the film included on Rai Play. In short, a series to be seen in one breath, full of highly questionable topics but which tries, in a certain sense, to break down taboos.
