Humanitas Milan is the best new university in the world. The university is the new entry in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 (The) which includes 1.799 universities in 104 countries and regions. Oxford tops the chart for the seventh consecutive year, Harvard University remains in second place, while Cambridge University leaps from fifth place last year to third place.

The ranking judges research-intensive universities in each of their main missions. Including teaching (the learning environment); research (volume, income and reputation), international perspectives (personnel, students and research); citations (influence on research); sector income (knowledge transfer). The University Alma Mater of Bologna , Scuola Normale Superiore of Pisa are the universities in the top 200 of The, Times World University Rankings.
Humanitas University in Milan ranks between 201th and 250th place and is the best new entry in the world in this range. The University of Padua, the Scuola Sant'Anna of Pisa, La Sapienza of Rome and the San Raffaele of Milan also rank between 201 and 250. The University of Pavia (251-300) arises in the previous step. In the same range (301-350) we find the University of Milan, the Bicocca and the Politecnico di Milano. Between 351 and 400 the University of Brescia, Tor Vergata in Rome, the University of Verona and the Federico II of Naples. Immediately after (401-500) we find the universities of Catania, Ferrara, Florence and Bolzano, Genoa, Reggio Emilia, Pisa, Siena, Trento, Turin.
