Travel by hitchhiking
A few weeks ago we told you the story of Simone Paccagnella and his crazy hitchhiking trip from Estonia to Italy www.italiani.it/simone-paccagnella
The frontier of low cost travel sees in fact, among its ranks, another Italian eager to go further and further with thumbs up along the way.
Simone “The Hitchhiker” Bordignon
Also in this case the protagonist of the narrated journey is called Simone.
He is a young student eager to get to know, discover and touch the realities that surround him up close.
The best way to do it, according to Simone, is to set a goal and reach it by tearing a passage along the way. From Vercelli in Portugal, passing through Poland with a stop at the North Cape. The goals reached by Simone, all hitchhiking, embrace the whole of Europe.
This allowed him to come into direct contact with the reality of every single place, savoring every detail that could escape the average traveler.
Hitchhiking
Expensive plane tickets, train connections or long lines to get on a ferry are not part of his way of being. As well as tourist villages, hotels and everything that requires a reservation and room service. For Simone, the trip is made in the company of some honest motorist crossed along the road. You sleep in the home of those who are able to accommodate us and badly you can put up the tent on the fly.
Sometimes close to a cliff just to enjoy breathtaking views as soon as you wake up.
But in addition to the experience that this way of traveling can give us, hitchhiking has another great advantage: it is cheap. It is in fact a type of travel almost at no cost. As Simone has repeatedly said, those cars are found on the street even without our presence and there are no detours to make.
The important thing is to get a little further from where you started.
Travel diary
In addition to traveling, Simone has two other great passions: photography and writing.
His adventures are told step by step on social networks. Everyone can know at any moment where he is, how he got there and what he intends to see. All between one shot and another, with photos of dream places and landscapes.
Simone's travels often have a theme, as evidenced by his experience in Portugal. On that occasion, in fact, the beers and its artisanal realities were the goal of Simone's journey.
And now? The latest news gives him around Ibiza to enjoy the last glimpses of summer, but it is useless to ask him where he will be tomorrow.
With hitchhiking there are no programs, only goals to reach and to live.
