This is how Claudio Baglioni sings in one of his songs referring to the day of his birth, May 16, 1951. His is a life full of experiences, successes, emotions; he is an author, singer, presenter, artistic director and also an architect, but, above all else, he is a pillar of Italian music. He sings from a very young age playing his guitar and he does so immediately showing his sensitivity and his extraordinary and unmistakable voice.

A little of its history

During his long career Claudio Baglioni has released 14 original albums, 10 live albums, 2 performer albums and numerous collections of hits. He is a multifaceted artist, he has also written three books and devoted himself to photography with 4 photographic volumes. How can we forget, moreover, his presence on television programs
"Anima mia" (1997) and "The last Waltz" (1999). But he, one of the "seven kings of Rome", is loved and famous above all for his songs that are part of the history of Italian music. It would take a long time to list all the extraordinary successes of Baglioni and then, knowing that we are doing wrong to so many masterpieces by the Roman artist who has sold sixty million records, we will only remember a few.

Let's start with This little big love released in 1972. It tells the story of a love that is now over and of the nostalgia for those days of unconscious happiness. It sold more than 900.000 copies and the song was awarded in Sanremo as "Italian song of the century"; then And how are you  in 1978 signed with CBS for 1 billion lire which obtained a gold record; it's still Along the way a 1981 album. The homonymous song talks about life and the unexpected and difficulties it offers. The album has sold over a million copies in Italy, remaining first in the charts for sixteen weeks; and the magnificent You will have which is one of the best known songs by Claudio Baglioni. It is a poetic and profound song, released in June 1982 and Baglioni, who became a father, dedicated it to his son Giovanni; Life is now is one of the best-selling Italian records ever. The album, released in 1985, sold more than 3 million copies. It invites us to appreciate every single day of our life without thinking about the past and without planning for the future; and finally A thousand days of you and me, is a beautiful song released in 1990, included on the album Over. It tells the end of a love and it does so with complex lyrics and overwhelming music.

A sensitive man also in the Social

Claudio Baglioni does not express his great sensitivity only in songs but also by engaging in social issues. In fact, he conceived and created O'scia'”, A review of arts and music dedicated to the theme of immigration and cultural integration. He was also the Italian representative of the “Human Rights Now Tour” for Amnesty International in 1988, artistic ambassador of the “World Food Day Concert” the concert-rally for FAO.
