The famous English chef Gordon Ramsay has decided to officially launch his own line of Italian wines. The chosen name is obviously referred to as ego, considering the worldwide fame acquired over the years: Gordon Ramsay Italian Collection. A production that took place in collaboration with Benchmark Drinks and the winemaker Alberto Antonini.
Gordon Ramsay's wines
A limited collection, consisting of three wines: red, white and rosé. To date, unfortunately for the many Italian fans of the chef, his Collection is for sale exclusively on Tesco or online at winedelivered.co.uk.
This is the last step in a very long journey. He explained that he had the chance to taste some of the best wines in the world, managing a restaurant 3 Michelin stars for more than 20 years. Winemaking has always fascinated him and the choice of Italy was almost inevitable, considering the passion he cultivates for our country.
A particularly high standard for this project. The same as his restaurants. The intervention of Alberto Antonini, defined by the chef as “one of the greatest Italian oenologists”, was fundamental.
Italian Collection
Gordon Ramsay and Alberto Antonini have decided to blend the vines of two different Italian wine regions: Tuscany and Abruzzo. Here are the three wines created, the cost of which is 10 pounds, or about 12 euros:
- Elegant Rosé: pale pink color with red cherry aromas. Gentle tannins and floral palate.
- Intense Red: ruby red color with black currant and blackberry aromas. Accessible tannins, soft finish and depth and texture on the palate.
- Vibrant White: straw color with apple and peach aromas. Juicy on the palate with refreshing acidity.
