The ideas of the greatest Salento statesman of all time are the inspiration for the mission of the Salento Region Movement, led by regional councilor Paolo PagliaroThe Salento jurist Giuseppe Codacci Pisanelli invested in culture thanks to his enlightening vision of the future. He worked on a major project: bringing a university to Lecce. And he achieved it. Following the twenty-year Fascist period, he understood the importance of establishing the Salento region, and from his idea, on December 17, 1946, the foundations for achieving this goal were laid.
Tricase commemorates Giuseppe Codacci Pisanelli
The ceremony took place this morning in Tricase commemoration for the thirty-fifth anniversary of the death of Giuseppe Codacci Pisanelli. The ceremony was attended, among other important names, by Mayor of Tricase Antonio De Donno who told us: “This morning at our cemetery we remembered with a small but intense ceremony Joseph Codacci Pisanelli, 35 years after his disappearance.
A great man of law, a milestone of the cultural landscape and national politician".

The city coordinator MRS Tricase also took part in the ceremony, Hervé Cavallera and the deputy city coordinator of the MRS Tricase, Maddalena Antonaci Dell'AbateA wreath was donated by regional councilor Paolo Pagliaro, president of the Salento Region Movement, who commented: “We cannot forget a creator of Lecce culture and a champion of Salento.”
