World Autism Day: Sunday 2nd April 2023 let's raise awareness aboutautism and we promote inclusion and understanding. The event is an opportunity to raise public awareness of the importance of ensuring a full and satisfying life for autistic people.
World autism day
The full name is World Autism Awareness Day (WAAD from the English name World Autism Awareness Day). The day was born in 2007 at the behest of theGeneral Assembly of the United Nations (UN). All over the world during this particular day meetings, conferences and more are held for the sensitization institutions and public opinion. Also, it continues every year Light it up blue, the project started by the organization Autism speaks which consists inilluminate the main monuments in blue in the most famous cities of the world. Over the years, among others, the Empire State Building in New York, Christ the Redeemer in Rio de Janeiro, the great pyramid of Giza in Egypt and the Arch of Constantine in Rome have been illuminated in blue. World autism day: the anniversary brings everyone's attention to respect for the rights of people on the autistic spectrum. World Autism Day it promotes research and diagnosis by contrasting discrimination and isolation of which autistic people and their families are still victims today.
Some of the many events organized in Italy
Today, April 2, 2023 are scheduled several events throughout Italy on the occasion of World Autism Day: below we mention just a few. TO Roma, sixty associations from all over the country meet thanks to the promotion of the Lazio Asperger Group, the VIII Municipality of Rome and the Bambino Gesù Hospital. The initiative features those who are not experts but who meet autistic people every day in various contexts of life, such as work, leisure, culture and sport.
In Piemonte, in the city of Chivasso, the Amici del Fiume Po organize boat trips "in blue" to coincide with the day. In Campania, the Regional School Office proposes the creation of a digital book entitled "Sensitizing the soul with a click" (Second Edition). The volume recounts in images the experiences promoted by educational institutions on the subject of autism. TO Palermo restaurants., the city turns blue and becomes the stage for the show sponsored by the Presidency of Ars, the Presidency of the Sicily Region and the Municipality of Palermo. The event involves special kids engaged in a dance show. The performance is open to institutions, authorities and schools of all levels that have participated in autism awareness campaigns.
