On the occasion of the 80th Columbus Day in New York on October 14th, Calabria will also be well represented thanks to the actor and director from Catanzaro Enzo Colacino, in the now consolidated role of Capitan Giangurgolo, accompanied by the now trusted minstrel Alessio Bressi on the diatonic accordion and the actress Nuccia Fotino in the role of Calabrisella.
An initiative organized by the Association "Coordination Center of Italian Masks", founded in Parma on November 28, 2015, which includes approximately 390 Italian masks from 16 Regions.
Among the many who will participate, the Sire of Verona Papà del Gnoco with his court, Brighella (Lombardy), Doctor Balanzone (Emilia Romagna) Dsevot (Parma), Captain Spaventa (Liguria Genoa), Bicciolano (Vercelli), Giangurgolo (Calabria), Merdules Bezzos (Sardinia), Guazzaro' (Marche) Lavica (Sicily) and a delegation from Misterbianco.
Particularly awaited among our fellow countrymen is the performance of Enzo Colacino who will bring, together with Calabrisella, a breath of authentic Calabria. At their side Alessio Bressi, a talented musician and lover of Calabrian musical traditions, with his diatonic accordion, who will make Giangurgolo and Calabrisella's show more exhilarating.
