Genoa is the European capital of Christmas 2022, a tourist recognition obtained together with the Basque city of San Sebastian in Spain. The coveted title was awarded by an international jury which boasts the patronage of the European Parliament.

 The recognition is motivated “by the high technical level of the projects presented, by the proposals and by the commitment to pursue the European values ​​of Christmas. A moment of special significance in which the profound values ​​of integration, tolerance, coexistence and peace that are at the heart and origin of the European project are revealed”. The logo of Genoa European Capital of Christmas 2022, wants to symbolize all the events organized by the Municipality of Genoa, town halls and local associations on the occasion of Christmas festivities 2022. A program full of events with music, guided tours of traditional nativity scenes in the various delegations of the city, from west to east, including the valleys.
