"Foresta Italia" campaign: sixty thousand trees from the Italian supply chain, planted in 42 sites, both inside and outside the cities, in 17 regions of the Belpaese. An ecological-environmental initiative made possible thanks to the support of 30 companies. This is the balance, presented in Rome, of the first year of the Foresta Italia campaign promoted by Rete Clima, Coldiretti and the Forest Certification Scheme Evaluation Program. As part of the campaign, ForestLab was born, the Rete Clima laboratory which will also involve universities and national research centers with the aim of experimenting with new management models for urban and extra-urban forests. In addition, a web-app will allow monitoring of health status.

Forest Italy

Carry out forestry projects, improving the quality of life of citizens and helping to combat global warming. Forest Italy was born from this premise, the forestation and reforestation campaign that acts as a bridge between different subjects. “It is a sign of synergy between public and private – declared Paolo Viganò, president of Rete Clima – for the promotion of Italian natural capital and biodiversity on a local scale. We interact with public administrations and businesses to pursue a sustainable development model consistent with the objectives of combating global warming. Foresta Italia was in fact born with the aim of planting trees in areas that need reforestation”.

Environmental policy

SThere are 30 companies that have decided to support the campaign and concretely define its environmental policy objectives. The more than 35 different species of trees and shrubs used in forestation and reforestation interventions are 100% Italian, with certificate of origin and phytosanitary passport, grown in local nurseries.

"Planting trees is an investment in the future – said Ettore Prandini, president of Coldiretti – Focusing on the Italian supply chain guarantees local biodiversity to grow and our cities to have an extra ally against pollution. And we aim for a fair remuneration for the plants, with the utmost respect for the law against unfair practices".
