The Prancing Horse has officially unveiled Ferrari Luce, the first car 100% electric Produced in Maranello and destined to mark a turning point in the history of the Modena-based manufacturer. The unveiling of the name and the first glimpse of its interior took place in a world premiere in San Francisco, USA, a location chosen to celebrate a model that combines tradition, innovation, and a new vision of automotive luxury.
A name rich in meaning
The name Luce It's no coincidence: it evokes the concept of "enlightenment," symbolizing a new era for Ferrari. With this name, the Maranello-based company reaffirms its commitment to evolution, without betraying its racing heritage and the identity of its classic cars.
Technological heart and expected performance
The Luce is the result of years of research and development in electrification. The first technical details of the electric supercar, with four doors and four seats, will be presented in autumn 2025. It is expected to have a power output of over 1.000 horsesa whirlpool bath, maximum speed exceeding 300 km/h and a claimed range of over 530 km on a single charge.
These performances place it directly among the most ambitious high-performance electric cars on the market, combining Ferrari's sporting heritage and tradition with cutting-edge technology.
Interior design: craftsmanship and innovation
The real surprise of the Light concerns the interior design, the result of a collaboration between the Ferrari Style Centre and the creative collective LoveFrom, founded by the famous designers Sir Jony Ive and Marc NewsonThis team has put the driving experience and human-machine interaction at the center.
The passenger compartment is characterised by a balance between physical controls and digital displays, with dedicated buttons for essential functions and an intuitive interface that evokes practicality and simplicity. The choice to prioritize mechanical controls, integrated with advanced technologies, establishes a new interior aesthetic that blends Ferrari tradition and innovation.
A particularly evocative element is the lightweight aluminum steering wheel, inspired by the historic Nardi steering wheels of the 50s and 60s, which reduces weight and offers a direct and engaging driving experience.
Rituals and details: the electric Ferrari experience
Luce also introduces unique technological rituals: for example, the glass key with an E Ink display changes color from yellow to black when the car is turned on, integrating with the center console and triggering a sequence of instrument illumination. This type of interaction underscores the attention to detail and the desire to make every step, including starting the car, an emotional experience.
A debut that looks to the future
Ferrari plans to unveil completely the outside of the Light in the spring of 2026, expected to arrive on the market by the end of the year. The project represents a decisive step in the brand's technological strategy, which integrates internal combustion, hybrid, and now fully electric powertrains to meet new sustainable mobility trends without sacrificing the sportiness and unique allure of a Ferrari.
