Mid-August in the name of art and culture with most of the museums and archaeological parks open throughout Italy. An initiative wanted by the Ministry of Culture, led by the minister Dario Franceschini.
Mid-August: museums and archaeological sites open to the public
It ranges from the spiritual charm of the Certosa di Trisulti in Collepardo (Frosinone), just returned to the public, to the Renaissance delights of the National Museum of Villa Pisani in Strà (Venice). Without forgetting the National Museum of Reggio Calabria which houses the Bronzi di Riace, found fifty years ago in the waters of the Ionian Sea.
Collections, paintings, works of art, monuments, ancient vestiges of the civilizations that flourished on our territory await visitors who, it is expected, will be many. There are over 220 sites registered so far in the opening calendar, available at https://cultura.gov.it/ferragostoalmuseo2022.
Priceless cultural heritage
The sites and works to visit are unique in the world. From the majesty of the Colosseum and of the Palatine to the marvelous ruins of Pompeii with its recent findings. From the renewed National Gallery of Umbria to the National Gallery of the Marche with its six new rooms. Among the sites to visit also the magnificent architecture of Palazzo Farnese in Caprarola with the enviable views over Tuscia. There are really many opportunities to meet culture for this cultural Ferragosto to be spent at the museum.
