Il Enzo Ferrari passed away on 14 August 1988, symbol of passion and determination, creator and creator of cars that have become synonymous of innovation and luxury craftsmanship.
Who is Enzo Ferrari
Enzo Ferrari was born in Modena on 18 February 1898 and lived in the house-workshop which has now become a museum dedicated to him. AND' in love with cars since he was a child so much so that his dream is to work at FIAT, but, since his application is rejected, he begins to work test driver in a small torpedo manufacturing company. When he travels to Milan for work, to Costruzioni Meccaniche Nazionali, he found his opportunity to become a driver, in 1919, in the Parma–Poggio di Berceto race. The following year he began to collaborate with Alfa Romeo, first as a driver and then as manager of the racing sector.
In 1923 meets the Baracca accounts who invite him to use the family coat of arms on his cars, i.e. a "prancing horse". In 1929 he founded the Scuderia Ferrari in Modena whose symbol will be the prancing horse.
In 1932 Ferrari founded “Auto Avio Costruzioni”, the progenitor of Ferrari and, after the war, he began creating his dream reds, which would soon also debut in F1, collecting successes that, even today, make Italy proud.
What initiatives are planned
A series of initiatives will pay homage, in Modena, to the figure of Enzo Ferrari on the occasion of the 36th anniversary of his death.
The traditional homage to Enzo Ferrari's tomb is scheduled for Wednesday 14 August, at 10 am, at the San Cataldo cemetery in Modena where the municipal institutions will place a basket of flowers.
A commemorative mass will also be held at 19pm in the parish of San Biagio in Maranello to express the profound gratitude that the city of Modena feels for Enzo Ferrari who was not just a automotive pioneer, but which with commitment and foresight bore the name of Modena in the world, making it synonymous with excellence and also becoming an inspiration for subsequent generations of engineers and motoring enthusiasts.
