Emanuela lived in the year of the massacres, when Italy was shaken by terrible events. After theattack on Falcone in May 1992, nothing was ever the same again. Tasked with protecting magistrate Guido Lo Forte and the head of the flying squad, Arnaldo La Barbera, Emanuela was transferred to the Escorts office. The mafia was spreading uncontrollable terror throughout the country, perpetrating merciless violence and cruelty. The members of the escort set out every morning, donning bulletproof vests and weapons, knowing they risked never returning home.

Emanuela, young and brilliant, fit in well in this world of men, breaking down the barriers of an environment that until recently had been closed to women.e. She was sunny, precise and energetic, but the terrible evening of the attack on Via d'Amelio took her away, without even leaving her body, everything went up in smoke.

The sacrifice
