The village of Dozza is a medieval jewel hidden in the heart of Emilia Romagna, just a few kilometers from Bologna. Characterized by a suggestive atmosphere and an incredible historical-artistic heritage, Dozza is an enchanting place. The Rocca Sforzesca

Dozza stands out for its picturesque cobbled streets, historic buildings and fascinating medieval walls that surround the entire historic center. One of the main attractions of the village is its castle, an imposing fortified building dating back to the 12th century, which dominates the surrounding landscape. The Rocca Sforzesca is a magnificent stately residence and hosts an important weapons museum and an internationally renowned contemporary art collection.

Built in the Middle Ages, the fortress was subsequently renovated by Catherine Sforza. In its basement you can visit theRegional wine shop of Emilia Romagna, which features over 800 wine labels chosen to best represent the region's wine production. Dozza is in fact surrounded by vineyards that produce some of the best wines in the region, in particular the famous Sangiovese. Numerous wineries offer tastings and guided tours to introduce visitors to the wine production process and to allow them to taste the best wines of the area.

The Painted Wall Biennial

Every two years, Dozza becomes the headquarters of Biennale del Muro Dipinto. The event, one of a kind, transforms the streets of the village into a huge open-air art gallery. During the event, which attracts many visitors, various street artists leave their work on the walls of houses. The works of art tell stories and traditions of the place.

Dozza is not just art, history and culture. Its culinary tradition is renowned throughout the region for its richness and authenticity. Local restaurants offer delicious dishes based on fresh and genuine ingredients, prepared according to ancient recipes handed down from generation to generation.
