Arthur the dog
It is the name of the rescue dog of the Volpiano dog unit of the fire brigade. A acclaimed hero on all fours, it is off to 15 years after dedicating his life to helping others. It was an Australian Kelpie. A name that made him a legend like the character in literature from which he was taken.
From 2008 to 2018 he was employed in rescue operations to recover people under the snow and rubble of the avalanche and earthquake.
The memory
The firefighter, his handler Ali Triulzi, whom Arthur often supported in operations, dedicated this moving message to the four-legged hero on Facebook:
"We've done a lot you and I, in 15 years you've been a unique and precious friend and today before leaving you waited for me to say goodbye one last time. Thanks for everything Arthur. Happy bridge".
even the National body of firefighters dedicated one last thought to the Australian Kelpie. Here are the words that remind him:
"Hi Arthur, thank you for all you have done".
Many messages appeared on social networks to show affection, greet and thank Arthur for his work.
